Ho Chi Minh City – Day 0/1
We arrived in HCMC mid afternoon on Sunday and thankfully flight time was shorter than scheduled.
We were fairly low on energy but highly determined to stay up until 10pm to help us adjusting to the 6h time difference.
I passed out 😵
Vietnam is having a heatwave and we’re here to “enjoy” it. 38 degrees in a concrete jungle is definitely an experience. A mostly sweaty one.
Still feeling a bit woozy on Monday morning, we decided to start out of the sun, and headed to the War Remnants Museum. It was amazing in a disturbing kind of way. Human cruelty seems to have no limits. Recommended but beware, you’ll be fighting tears back.
For lunch I followed the footsteps of Anthony Bourdain and visited a little whole in the wall restaurant to have a bowl of Cháo mực (squid soup).

Next up: Central Post Office and Notre Dame. Latter of which was sadly covered by scaffolding, hence photo is not mine.

We spent the rest of the day walking around the city, crossing roads whilst scooters rode around us as we made our ways to the other side.
Despite the insane traffic Ho Chi Minh City has a great vibe.
